Beginning of itinerary – Main Entrance of Vendicari
After parking (parking site is located just before the main entrance) follow the wooden foot-bridge which will take you up to the beach of Vendicari. Along the path, the cabanas of observation for birdwatching.
First stage – Beach Vendicari
First stop…The beach of Vendicari! On the background the ancient Tonnara and the Sveva Tower.
Second stage – Tonnara and Sveva Tower
Here’s the Tonnara of Vendicari … next to the ruins of the Sveva Tower, a fortified tower of 15th century… This area is suitable to make the first stop enjoying a little shade. Enjoy the beautiful view!
Third stage – the rocky stretch and the caletta!
Leaving behind the Sveva Tower the rocky stretch of the beach of Vendicari beginns, great for diving and snorkelling. Going on along the path that leads to Calamosche, you will find a beautiful cove: the comfortable rocks will also enable you to lie down and enjoy sunbathing!
Fourth stage – the hut!
You are in the middle of the path… This is an great opportunity to relax in the shade and enjoy the views. Continuing on the path, on your left you will find the “Pantano Piccolo”.
Fifth stage – Calamosche beach
Climb down the ladders in stone and you are finally arrived! A bit hard maybe … But you have been rewarded! Here’s Calamosche, the most famous beach of the Reserve!
